If each student is valued and respected in a culturally responsive environment where they receive the specific strategic support they need in high school, then they can be successful for college/career/civic readiness.
In order for Districts 7, 9 and 12 High Schools to prepare students for college and career, our district will partner with multiple stakeholders through collaboration, support, and planning to ensure that each student meets high expectations and achieves academic and post-secondary success.
1. Urgency with Integrity
2. Thoughtful Listener
3. Relationship-Building & Follow Through
4. Commitment to the 3Cs- Career, College, & Civic Readiness
Instruction, Curriculum, and Assessments Schools will use a vetted curriculum that aligns with NYS standards and the Regents and provides culturally responsive and intellectually engaging tasks, where students can demonstrate strong daily thinking, reading, writing, and evidence-based discussion.
Schools will create opportunities to establish goals, review data, revise plans to support their graduation, regents, attendance, and student achievement data so that students will have opportunities in each grade for post-secondary readiness.
Schools will create a welcoming, nurturing, and supportive environment with high expectations to engage students and staff to build trusting relationships to cultivate opportunities for academic and social-emotional growth.
Schools will intentionally create structures to increase family and community engagement and empowerment.
Be the first to hear about special events, workshops and community updates.
